Revealing the last Ancient Languages card + BGG + new review videos
about 2 years ago – Tue, Mar 29, 2022 at 03:51:33 AM

Happy Monday! We are entering the last few days of the Worldbreakers campaign, and I still owe you one important piece of information ...

Revealing the third "Ancient Languages" card

Your copy of Worldbreakers will come with 12 exclusive promotional cards. Three of these are the "Ancient Languages" cards. The first is the Greek "The Agora of Athens", the second is the Mongolian "Call to Arms", and the third is:

Masada is an ancient fort located in the South of Israel, around 60 miles (100 kilometers) southeast of Tel Aviv. The Hebrew king Herod I (or "Hordus" in Hebrew) built two of his palaces there between 37 and 31 BCE. It was sieged by the Roman from 73 to 74 CE and eventually fell. As a Jew and an Israeli, putting a Hebrew version of Masada in Worldbreakers was an exciting and emotional experience.

The Masada card is an alt-art version of Khutulun's "The Amu River Encampment", which strengthens your followers and provides you with one extremely powerful attack where all of your followers gain Overwhelm. I felt that this effect is appropriate for one of the most famous fortresses of the ancient era.

An update-less update (plus solo print-and-play)
about 2 years ago – Sat, Mar 26, 2022 at 06:35:09 AM

Next week is the FINAL WEEK for the campaign, so I decided to take the weekend off and spend it with my family ;) One quick note, the print-and-play has been updated to the latest version of the cards, AND I added the solo mode. If you haven't tried the campaign yet, now is the perfect time.

Enjoy the weekend and I'll see you on Monday!

Fan-created 3D printed standing tokens and deck box
about 2 years ago – Thu, Mar 24, 2022 at 01:03:37 AM

It's a slow news day in campaign land, which brings the perfect opportunity to share some of the awesome creative work done by Worldbreakers players. First, here is tessaluniki's 3D printed Moon standing tokens:

The tokens are made out of four parts. Three of them are 3D-printed: the front and back of the container and the geared moon logo. The fourth is a metal disc which gives them a nice feel and weight. You can see more of the tokens in this imgur gallery.

Next, FixB's Advent of the Khanate box:

The box has room for a full playset along with all the counters. The box contains two 3D-printed trays for easy separation. Here is an imgur gallery with more photos.

You might be wondering how FixB even HAS a playset of Advent of the Khanate, given that we haven't manufactured it yet. The answer, of course, is that they printed it:

If you would like to print your own copy, download the PDFs here:

We're entering the final week of the campaign -- as always, thank you for reading and for your support.

ALOT of playmats, a lot of copies, and Alamut Castle
about 2 years ago – Mon, Mar 21, 2022 at 07:28:35 PM

Welcome to a new week and another Worldbreakers update!

ALOT of Playmats

Several backers asked me about getting all SIX playmats. I got excited, created this "ALOT of Playmats" illustration, then couldn't convince Kickstarter to set up the add-on. So, if you would like to get all six playmats:

  • For base tier, you can get all six for $90
  • For all other tiers, you can get four additional playmats for $55 (since your Deluxe tier already includes two playmats)

If you are interested in any of these, update your pledge with the appropriate amount and I'll make sure you can set up the exact playmats through the pledge manager. Message if you have any questions.

Save on shipping by ordering with friends

Despite subsidizing as much of the shipping as I could, the shipping costs to some countries are still pretty high. One easy way to save is to combine forces with a friend or three and order multiple copies of Worldbreakers. You can get the extra copies as an Add-on:

  • Choose "Back this Project" (or "Manage your pledge", if you already backed)
  • Choose your pledge tier, either Base, Deluxe, or something else, then click "Continue"
  • Under the "Add-ons" dialog, choose "Additional Copy of Worldbreakers" and set the number of copies you want

If you want a shipping estimate, just message me through the Kickstarter system.

A lot of copies (not to be confused with ALOT of copies ... I'll see myself out 😅)

The Evolution of Alamut Castle

Alamut Castle is one of the Signature cards for Ruknuddin Khurshah, the Worldbreaker of the Void guild. Meaning “eagle’s nest” in Persian, the castle is located in modern-day Iran, about 130 miles (200 kms) north of Tehran. Founded by Wahsūdān ibn Marzubān in 865 AD, the castle was captured by the Isma’ili chief Hasan-i Sabbah in 1090 AD and became the headquarters of the Nizari Isma’ili state. The card got a significant buff in the latest version, and I used this opportunity to take a deep dive into its history on the Worldbreakers blog.

Thank you for reading and have a wonderful week ;)
