An update-less update (plus solo print-and-play)
– Sat, Mar 26, 2022 at 06:35:09 AM
Next week is the FINAL WEEK for the campaign, so I decided to take the weekend off and spend it with my family ;) One quick note, the print-and-play has been updated to the latest version of the cards, AND I added the solo mode. If you haven't tried the campaign yet, now is the perfect time.
Enjoy the weekend and I'll see you on Monday!

Fan-created 3D printed standing tokens and deck box
almost 3 years ago
– Thu, Mar 24, 2022 at 01:03:37 AM
It's a slow news day in campaign land, which brings the perfect opportunity to share some of the awesome creative work done by Worldbreakers players. First, here is tessaluniki's 3D printed Moon standing tokens:
The tokens are made out of four parts. Three of them are 3D-printed: the front and back of the container and the geared moon logo. The fourth is a metal disc which gives them a nice feel and weight. You can see more of the tokens in this imgur gallery.
Next, FixB's Advent of the Khanate box:
The box has room for a full playset along with all the counters. The box contains two 3D-printed trays for easy separation. Here is an imgur gallery with more photos.
You might be wondering how FixB even HAS a playset of Advent of the Khanate, given that we haven't manufactured it yet. The answer, of course, is that they printed it:
If you would like to print your own copy, download the PDFs here:
We're entering the final week of the campaign -- as always, thank you for reading and for your support.

ALOT of playmats, a lot of copies, and Alamut Castle
almost 3 years ago
– Mon, Mar 21, 2022 at 07:28:35 PM
Welcome to a new week and another Worldbreakers update!
ALOT of Playmats
Several backers asked me about getting all SIX playmats. I got excited, created this "ALOT of Playmats" illustration, then couldn't convince Kickstarter to set up the add-on. So, if you would like to get all six playmats:
- For base tier, you can get all six for $90
- For all other tiers, you can get four additional playmats for $55 (since your Deluxe tier already includes two playmats)
If you are interested in any of these, update your pledge with the appropriate amount and I'll make sure you can set up the exact playmats through the pledge manager. Message if you have any questions.
Save on shipping by ordering with friends
Despite subsidizing as much of the shipping as I could, the shipping costs to some countries are still pretty high. One easy way to save is to combine forces with a friend or three and order multiple copies of Worldbreakers. You can get the extra copies as an Add-on:
- Choose "Back this Project" (or "Manage your pledge", if you already backed)
- Choose your pledge tier, either Base, Deluxe, or something else, then click "Continue"
- Under the "Add-ons" dialog, choose "Additional Copy of Worldbreakers" and set the number of copies you want
If you want a shipping estimate, just message me through the Kickstarter system.
A lot of copies (not to be confused with ALOT of copies ... I'll see myself out 😅)
The Evolution of Alamut Castle
Alamut Castle is one of the Signature cards for Ruknuddin Khurshah, the Worldbreaker of the Void guild. Meaning “eagle’s nest” in Persian, the castle is located in modern-day Iran, about 130 miles (200 kms) north of Tehran. Founded by Wahsūdān ibn Marzubān in 865 AD, the castle was captured by the Isma’ili chief Hasan-i Sabbah in 1090 AD and became the headquarters of the Nizari Isma’ili state. The card got a significant buff in the latest version, and I used this opportunity to take a deep dive into its history on the Worldbreakers blog.
Thank you for reading and have a wonderful week ;)

Playtest update + WorldbreakersDB
– Sat, Mar 19, 2022 at 07:04:27 AM
Happy Friday, let's enter the weekend with a bang with these two exciting updates:
New playtest version
I plan to playtest and tweak all of the Worldbreakers cards until the last possible minute. This campaign has been a huge boost to our playtesting effort, and I'm proud to announce that a new version is up on Tabletop Simulator. Click here to see all the changes. Here are the highlights:
-
All of the cards have their final ART and NAMES. No more "Earth Guild Executor" or placeholder art. The illustrations are all in.
- Around 25 cards had balance changes (that's almost a quarter of the card pool). Most just had a number tweaked by ±1, a few had bigger changes.
- The solo campaign has been significantly tweaked. The old version was overly difficult, with even seasoned players requiring 5-10 tries to defeat a single chapter. The updated solo campaign should be more accessible.
I am committed to make Worldbreakers the best gaming experience possible and playtesting is a central part of that development process. Thank you to all of the players on the Worldbreakers Discord channel for playing and providing feedback. Furthermore, it's not too late to make an impact -- come join us!
Cunning Reclaimer, by João Phillipe, is the last illustration to be added to Worldbreakers. It's also one of the last-named card, it was named a bland "Void Worshipper" placeholder beforehand.
WorldbreakersDB
I am delighted to announce the launch of WorldbreakersDB, a new online database for all things Worldbreakers, or WBDB for short. WBDB has ALL of the Worldbreakers cards, a deck construction tool, plus the option to share, publish, and discuss deck lists. If you want to browse through all of the cards or create your first deck, WBDB is your first stop. In addition, it has an "Export to Tabletop Simulator" feature, which allows you to bring your deck straight to the Worldbreakers module.
Many, many thanks to tessaluniki for all of the hard work in making WBDB a reality.
What better way to spend the upcoming weekend than building your deck using WBDB and playing the latest version of Worldbreakers ;-)

Social media milestones + upcoming streams
about 3 years ago
– Thu, Mar 17, 2022 at 04:36:51 PM
We have officially crossed the halfway mark for the campaign. I have a smaller update today as we are gearing up to the end of March.
First, I would like to celebrate a few social media milestones. Worldbreakers recently reached ...
I am awed and grateful to all of you who show your support of Worldbreakers through these different virtual hangouts -- most of these did not even exist three months ago! I post regularly on all of the above, so if you want to learn more about the game, the theme, and the design, you're welcome to join.
Suave Sycophant, by Diletta de Santis. Why am I placing this illustration here, right after talking about social media? Pure coincidence.
Next, I will be joining two streams in the next couple of days:
Tomorrow (Thursday) at 16:00 GMT / noon ET / 9am PT, Sven Zedlitz and I are going to talk about Worldbreakers, designing a card game as an indie, and ... spreadsheets 😻 in particular their role in development and playtesting. You can join us on Twitch at this link.
Then, on Friday, at 12:30 GMT / 8:30pm ET / 5:30pm PT, I will be joining TheNerdySteve to play a couple of games of Worldbreakers and talk about the game's origins. Steve is an expert Magic: the Gathering player and I'm excited about the opportunity to introduce Worldbreakers to a new audience. Join us on Twitch.
I hope to see you in one (or both!) of these streams ;) Thank you for reading and have a wonderful rest-of-week.
