I am delighted to report that LongPack has started the mass production of Worldbreakers: Advent of the Khanate. Production is due to complete by September 30, which means that we are THREE MONTHS ahead of schedule! The next big step is freight, and I am waiting for final confirmation from our USA and Europe companies regarding their pickup and delivery dates.
Here are the latest photos from LongPack, showing Worldbreakers in all of its glory.

The waiting game continues! LongPack is in the process of printing the Worldbreakersproduction sample. Once it's done, they will send me photos for my approval, after which the full print run will commence. Meanwhile, here is a recap of the past few updates, in case you missed them:
The assets were first finalized and sent to LongPack on May 31. This update also has eye candy of the box design and the text on the back of the Card Doubler.
Even before printing the digital (pre-production) sample, LongPack identified two issues. One, the box was too small and we increased its height by 8mm (0.3 inches). Two, there was an alignment mismatch in cutting some of the counters, which they fixed.
Jamie and I received the digital sample on July 12. Check out that post for a bunch of super-exciting photos! Plus a derpy photo of me holding the box at DHL ;) I flew to Jamie's place for a day to review all of the components, we made a long list of changes, and Jamie proceeded to crush me 4-1.
One of the cooler changes is a bigger turn tracker, which is TWICE the originally planned tracker. It should be quite a centerpiece, so finding the Worldbreakers meetup at your favorite convention or board gaming café should be super-easy.
*phew* I think that covers the past three months of Worldbreakers news. Reading all these updates again, I'm ecstatic that we got so far, so fast. I especially want to thank Jamie, who promptly provided invaluable feedback, and Laura (our agent in LongPack) for being communicative and transparent. Fingers crossed that I have awesome photos for the next update.

Another quick update: LongPack has approved all of the files and I counter-approved their digital versions. We are now waiting for photos of the production sample, which should take another 10-15 days. I will make sure to share them with you as soon as I get them! Once I approve the photos, we should move into printing 🎉 according to LongPack, printing should take 30-45 days. Getting closer!

I finished updating the Worldbreakers assets according to LongPack's feedback. Briefly, the copyright, card number, and illustrator line on the bottom of the card was too low, so I had to move it up in all of the card Illustrator files. I am now waiting for the confirmation from LongPack, and we should enter the printing queue soon!

PS Apologies for the short update. I am in the process of relocating my family to a new state. I promise that the next update will be more exciting ;)
Pre-production review, standing at the production starting line!

I spent the past two weeks fixing all of the issues that Jamie and I identified in the pre-production sample. We ended up with 64 tasks, and thankfully most of them were quite small: typos, missing hyphens, moving pieces of text by a few pixels at a time, and the like. I sent the updated assets to LongPack on Monday and their artistic team is now reviewing the PDFs for the last time. As soon as they give the green light, production will begin!
Bigger & Better Turn Tracker
One change which I am particularly proud of is a size increase for the turn tracker. When Jamie and I played our first ever game of Worldbreakers using the pre-production sample (Jamie won ;-)) we both noticed that the turn tracker is somewhat humble. The board should be more of a centerpiece! We agreed that it should be bigger. I am very grateful to LongPack, who agreed to such a big change. The new tracker is twice the size of the original design:
A brief design history: I originally planned to package Worldbreakers in a teeny tiny 6.5" x 4" box. I loved the idea of a small box that you could keep in your backpack or easily lug around conventions. The biggest turn tracker that I could squeeze in that box was 6" x 2", and that was the size of the tracker throughout development. Due to all of the additional cards (a 54-card solo campaign deck, an additional copy of the 20 neutral cards, and another ~20 cards such as the promos), I had to increase the box size to 8.5" x 5". Increasing the tracker size to 8.2" x 3" seems like an obvious next step now.
If all goes according to plan, my next update will be about beginning production. Will keep you posted ;)
